This is a burning issue as electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, with a 59% increase on Polish roads in 2022 compared to the previous year (according to antyweb.pl). To address this problem, researchers are trying to replace these batteries with all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) where all components, including the electrolyte, are solid.<\/p>\n<p>The ARISER project, led by researchers from Poland and Turkey, aims to develop innovative ASSB batteries with improved performance. They are working on a double deposition technique to create lithium-rich compounds and special buffer layers of selected metal oxides. This technique enhances the ionic conductivity of ASSB batteries and improves:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>battery lifetime,<\/li>\n<li>stability of charge-discharge cycles,<\/li>\n<li>critical current density,<\/li>\n<li>battery performance in terms of charging \/ discharging speed,<\/li>\n<li>operating conditions (e.g. temperature) and capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ASSB structure with buffer layers will be initially developed in small test samples(around 1 cm x 1 cm) by our go-getting and talented design team led by Kamil Kosiel, PhD, DSc (somprising Joanna Jankowska-\u015aliwi\u0144ska, PhD, Eng., Piotr Polak, MSc, Eng., Karina Wojciechowska, MSc, Eng., Laura Sta\u0144co, MSc, Eng., and Anna Szerling, PhD, DSc)\u00a0in coperation with the IZTECH Institute. Following that, experts from CBRTP, one of the consortium members, will transfer the structure to large surfaces (15 cm x 15 cm). The project aims to provide valuable insights for large-scale production in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the ARISER study will pave the way for the use of improved ASSBs for applications such as energy storage, e.g. in electric vehicles. And in the very near future!<\/p>\n<p>The development of these innovative batteries is carried out by a Turkish-Polish consortium consisting of the IZTECH Institute, Koc University, TEKNOMA from Turkey, \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 IMiF \u2013 the leader of the Polish side, and the Polish company
