Almost half of the articles that qualified for the event in beautiful Wroc\u0142aw were written by scientists from abroad which means that it is becoming more popular outside Poland. During sessions, papers, and seminars, all participants had a chance to discuss topics such as the following:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Design of Integrated Circuits and Microsystems<br \/>\n&#8211; Power Electronics<br \/>\n&#8211; Signal Processing<br \/>\n&#8211; Embedded Systems<br \/>\n&#8211; Medical Applications<\/p>\n<p>One of those participants was Daniel Tomaszewski, Ph.D., D.Sc. from our Institute, who has been co-organizing and co-chairing the \u201cCompact Modeling of Heterogenous Devices and Systems\u201d session since 2007. He is very active in terms of co-organizing scientific events, no wonder the IEEE EDS Distinguished Lecturer Mini-Colloquia has been yearly co-organized and co-chaired by him as well.<\/p>\n<p>During the Distinguished Lecturer Session, he also gave a talk titled \u201cFETs as Detectors of THz Radiation&#8221; during which he underlined shortcomings of the existing and common approaches to THz detection modeling and a need for further investigation in this area. Such efforts have been undertaken by a team of the Silicon Technology and Sensor Systems Research Group of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 IMiF.
