We develop technologies for manufacturing new materials; we test their properties and explore the possibilities for putting them to practical use in the following sectors: energy, electronics, photonics, medicine, aviation, defence, and other sectors of the economy.

Mission and Vision of the Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics

Mission:

We develop technologies of the future in response to the challenges of the modern world

Vision:

We want to be a leading partner in implementing valuable technologies and products in microelectronics and photonics

Our guiding
principles

We have founded our growth on the following pillars:

People

The strength of our Institute is our people – outstanding researchers achieving success in many scientific disciplines. Their achievements include hundreds of publications in the world’s leading science journals, dozens of patents – including global patents – and participation in prestigious scientific projects.

Research infrastructure

Our scientific laboratories are where our innovative solutions are developed. We pride ourselves on our advanced research and analytical capabilities – our laboratories feature first-class specialist equipment and unique apparatuses that allow the Institute to secure a high place in the ranks of European scientific organisations.

Technologies

We conduct research and development in the following areas: microelectronics, nanoelectronics, optoelectronics, materials engineering, photonics (including nanophotonics), microwave electronics, power electronics, as well as printed, transparent and flexible electronics. We implement and disseminate the results of this work throughout the economy.
