Will graphene change the world?
It sure will! We have already shown that graphene produced in our Institute can be used in many different industries. Among other things, we demonstrated its usefulness as a component of tissue scaffolds for bone tissue reconstruction.
Additionally, we have managed to prove that graphene can be also used in anticancer therapies, especially in the context of the fight against brain glioma. Currently, in cooperation with our great partners, we are conducting research on how to use graphene to fight other types of cancer.
But that’s not all! We have also demonstrated that our graphene (G-Flake) can be successfully used for anti-corrosion protection of metal elements. Another interesting application of graphene, which has been appreciated by our partners, is the possibility of using it in lubricants, thus limiting the friction wear of elements. We also apply graphene to composite laminates, to increase their durability.
Why G-Flake® flake graphene?
The answer is simple! We can produce subsequent batches of high-quality material in a controlled manner – both in terms of purity (low content of inclusions of other elements in the chemical composition) and a small number of flake layers – which is one of the key parameters determining the final properties of flake graphene.
Also, we believe that cost reduction of high-quality flake graphene production is necessary. This is one of the challenges we are also working on at the Institute.
Moreover, if graphene is to change the world, it should have unique properties, be quickly processed by various techniques, and be easily combined with engineering materials such as steel, ceramics, and polymers.
