How to broaden our technological understanding of graphene? Our young scientists have developed a novel method for the classification of its structural quality. The protocol enables high-resolution imaging of graphene topography and layer-resolved analysis of parasitic inclusions. Their method can be an alternative or complement to the 62607-6-6:2021 Technical Standard issued by the Graphene Flagship!
The results have been published in the high-ranked Applied Surface Science journal (Scopus TOP5%). This publication is yet another step in the process of establishing a system for the standardization and certification of graphene materials and products.
By combining the results of the layer-resolved analysis in conjunction with a number of other traditional characterization methods, the graphene community could gain a synergetic protocol and – just like we have said at the beginning – a broader technological understanding.
