Walls have already come down so let’s make the next step and build bridges! Kiranmai Uppuluri, MSc, who won the Falling Walls contest in Autumn, has recently visited Dresden to take part in the Building Bridges conference. Uppuluri was one of our representatives, including Piotr Cywiński, Adam Filipkowski, PhD, and Kamil Pierściński, PhD.
The Building Bridges conference took place on 16th-17th May 2023 at the International Congress Center in Dresden, Germany. It was organized by Helmhotz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf to create a common platform for Czech, German, and Polish scientists to meet and explore opportunities for scientific collaborations, especially in the fields of health, climate and artificial intelligence.
„The keynote speech by Prof. Miguel Mahecha appealed to my interests in remote sensing for environmental applications” – said Kiranmai Uppuluri, MSc. „Since I am currently working on biodegradable sensors in the TESLA – Transient Electronics for Sustainable ICT in DigitaL Agriculture project, the work presented by Dr. Denys Makarov about biodegradable magnetic field sensors was the most interesting for me during the session on disruptive technologies” – she added.
During the panel discussion, one scientist and one politician from each country were present, and this included the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. „I learnt a lot from the speeches and it was great to meet such brilliant minds from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Moreover, Dresden is a beautiful city so that was a nice bonus to the experience” – Kiran summed up the meeting.
