Women with a mission are here! Let’s get to know some of them as today is their DAY! Junior specialists, science enthusiasts, and full-time experts – all of them make their contributions to a better, more developed, and eco-friendly world.
Beata Synkiewicz-Musialska, Phd., Eng. is participating in a project with the acronym TESLA. Her task is to adapt biodegradable substrates so that the layers of printed electronics could be placed on them. She has said that she is satisfied with the fact that ecology is entering the world of electronics. “If we eat meals on biodegradable plates and drink beverages using paper straws, why not create sensors on, for example, cellulose instead of plastic?” – she asks.
Agata Skwarek, Ph.D., D.Sc. leads the Hybrid Microelectronics and LTCC Department in Krakow at Łukasiewicz – Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics. Currently, she is coordinating the investment related to the creation of the Łukasiewicz Competence Center: Hydrogen Technologies.
Kiranmai Uppuluri, Eng. is currently investigating novel materials for the fabrication and characterization of screen-printed pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and conductivity sensors for water quality monitoring. Her sensors are further applied by other Aquasense ITN project partners for measurement in food and integration with wireless sensor networks on aerial and underwater drones. While exploring new materials, she prioritizes the economic and environmental impact, in addition to the sensing performance.
Aleksandra Wójcicka and Kamila Ćwik – Junior Specialists in GaN-Based Devices, Sensors, Thin-film Structures and Porous Materials Research Group at Łukasiewicz – IMiF. Thin-film deposition and characterization as well as synthesis of high porosity materials – these are some of their daily activities. Aleksandra likes to sit at the piano after hours, Kamila is a lover of Latin-American dance.
