Agnieszka Grabias, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. has joined the elite group of 206 scientists from around the world (including 6 from Poland) named Mössbauer Century Club. The group consists of researchers who have published over 100 articles on the results of scientific research obtained using the Mössbauer spectroscopy method since 1958, that is since the discovery of the effect of recoilless emission and absorption of gamma radiation by the nuclei of atoms bound in a solid (by Rudolf Mössbauer).
It’s worth mentioning that the discoverer of the Mössbauer effect was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics only a few years after the publication of his discovery – in 1961.
Currently, the Mössbauer spectroscopy method is used in a wide variety of fields, including in domains related to metallurgy, energy, batteries, catalysts, sensors, environmental protection, medicine, as well as in space research.
The latest papers by Agnieszka Grabias, published in the Journal of Alloys and Compounds are devoted to new magnetic materials:
A paper on meteorite research is in print now (Hyperfine Interactions (2022)).
