It was an EPIC meeting! On Wednesday 6.09.2023, we had the privilege of hosting participants from the EPIC Technology Meeting on Photonics in Defence at our Institute. For those unfamiliar, EPIC is dedicated to fostering the growth of the photonics industry in Europe.

At the outset of the gathering, Kamil Pierściński, PhD, the leader of the Infrared Photonics Research Group, provided an insightful introduction to the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics, emphasizing the areas of expertise within our institute. Alicja Anuszkiewicz, PhD, DSc, a member of the Fiber-optic and Quantum Technologies and Systems Research Group, delivered a compelling presentation on her group offer.

Subsequently, our visitors were treated to a guided tour of the Infrared Photonics research group’s laboratories, where they were given a detailed presentation on the group’s cutting-edge equipment, technology, and measurement capabilities.

In summary, although the visit was brief, it was clear that our scientists and our guests identified common areas of interest that may pave the way for future collaborations.
