Last Friday, we had a special guest in our Institute – a representative of UAE science, Director General of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture – Dr. Tarifa Ajeif Al Zaabi who promotes sustainable agricultural development – an issue important for everybody.

During our excellent meeting, we had a chance to learn more about challenges in Biosaline Agriculture, our field of interest, what’s more – Ada Wójcik from Łukasiewicz – Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics has recently demonstrated experimentally the desalinating properties of porous boron nitride structures. Furthermore, we exchanged our experience towards the application of microelectronic and photonic technologies for agriculture, forestry, and fishing in highly saline environments.

Besides interesting discussion, we also presented the potential behind Łukasiewicz – IMiF as well as showed our facilities, especially the laboratories led by Anna Szerling, Ph.D., D.Sc. Thanks to the professional guidance of Andrzej Taube, Ph.D. no single detail of semiconductor manufacturing could be omitted!

Since we have mentioned agriculture above… we are looking forward to… a fruitful cooperation!
